Perspicacious and Cosmic Latte
/ After thinking about the format for these newsletters, I decided to start with cool/interesting/random stuff and iterate from there.
Quotes I want to reflect on / Cool Words I want to use more
perspicacious
Random Observations
/ I was looking for a nice light coffee color and came across Cosmic Latte:
“average color of the galaxies of the universe when viewed from Earth”
described as “slightly beige-ish white”
incidentally, the color came out of an experiment with a different intention
a nice reminder that often you set out with the intention to do X and side effect Y ends up being more interesting
Pointless (?) Questions
Random, but what percentage of people between ages 18 and 35 know that your birthday moves forward by one day each year (ignoring leap years, which move it forward two days)? (Ex. If your birthday is on Friday this year, it’ll be on Saturday next year)Maybe I’m initially like “90%,” and I think if asked, answers will generally fall in that 90-100% range, with the explanation “most people (95%+) since it is a common fact,” but I don’t know how common it actually is.
