Happy Birthday!

Reflecting on 26 and Intuition

happy friday! tuesday! happy birthday to all those born on the wonderful day that is Earth Day (April 22).

I also had some unplanned travel toward the end of last week and was offline.

26 feels slightly worse then I expected, for reasons difficult to phrase.
Put best, it feels how I expected 27 to feel.
Something along the lines of “late-20s” that is hitting earlier than expected.

Again, things like this you don’t have control over.
All one can do is absorb, reflect, and act, as with anything that is outside your control!

There is also a large positive aspect to some ages feeling…worse than you thought.

How something feels, organically, implies it is the truest form of itself.
It is not trying to be anything. It just is.
I don’t want to say…
“Hm, it is weird that 26 feels bad, let me reject that and be positive”
because not accepting that initial feeling is itself a rejection of what is natural.

Perhaps I am making this too whimsical…but I do earnestly feel there is something to be said about thinking about how something makes you feel, but from a very objective perspective.
Not in an overtly emotional way, or a pessimistic way, but in a way that helps one develop intuition.
That’s sort of where I was going with this.

Thinking more broadly…I first wrote about this Framework I incorporate into my views here: https://vishalsethi1.notion.site/2024-06-21-Defining-The-Framework-55e50721519144538bdbc70ffff8215a

And part of that, which I don’t often get to comment on, is intuition.

It is AS IMPORTANT to the framework as all of the other aspects, but at times can feel the less “logical” or “rational” as I best describe it as entirely intangible.

It is, quite literally, feeling. More commonly referred to as “gut instinct”.

This is not to say it doesn’t incorporate facts or truth.

Rather, it is the aspect of the framework, that can allow you to take in present moment feelings, think objectively about them, and use them to cultivate your perspective.

So, in thinking about how 26 feels, I shape my perspective (based on whatever conclusion I reach, which is unique for each person!) and keep moving forward.

  • finished creating a picture book, I’ll post about it next week, but you can find it here: https://www.certainventures.com/book

  • created a “micro-saas” where every morning you get emailed a historical anecdote. I’ve found these fun to read each morning, and now after a few days, have some improvements to make: https://www.certainclassics.com/

‘Til next time,
